For almost a month of travel, every single meal I’ve eaten has been at a restaurant, or takeout. This was 99% delicious, 1% gross, and because I’ve had a head cold for the last few days, the gross feeling won. My first move now that I’m back home was to make a big pot of chicken soup, which is basically medicine, right? Delicious delicious medicine. I made Mike vegetable soup too, just to spread the love. Then, because I was craving it, I made coconut rice pudding, and ate pretty much the whole pot in one go. Not my finest moment.

Finally, yesterday, I made this apple cake. It is absolutely delicious, and hella seasonal. Fall on a fork. My only adjustment would be to use more amaretti cookies next time; you just can’t have too many.
