This weekend we took a quick trip to Seattle, because despite living on the West Coast since 2005, I had not been. It was absolutely delightful. We stayed in a lovely hotel, a nice change from the mixed bag of AirBnbs we’re used to. As we usually do, we ate and drank and spent time with friends and saw some excellent sunsets. I caught up with a childhood neighbor I haven’t seen since we graduated high school, and got to know Mike’s editor and his wife, who generously squired us around for three days straight. Oh, and I saw Macklemore on a walk.
We also:
Strolled around Pike Place Market on a sunny morning
Enjoyed some killer views
Fangirled out at Essex and Delancey, the restaurant and bar of Orangette
Had a freaking delightful fancy brunch at Sitka & Spruce
Took a boat out on Lake Union with friends and picnicked our faces off
Sat by the fire and picture windows in our hotel and read
We will most definitely be back.
