An old friend of mine now works for the BBC’s travel desk, and she recently published this video piece on Google Maps’ efforts to get street view footage of the landscape of South Georgia (the remote island, not the state).
I ran the teen page of our local newspaper in high school, and I handed it off to Ali when I graduated. She went on to become a professional journalist, I now work with news organizations from within Google, and she coordinated with a Google team on this video. SYNERGY!
