Last night was the big bash celebrating Google’s partnership with Rolling Stone to make its archives available in Newsstand. After months and months of work, we got to get gussied up and party. I got to spend the week in LA and see friends, the edition is performing well in Newsstand (I’m watching the Analytics like a hawk), and seeing articles from the 60s and 70s get rediscovered and appreciated is just so damn cool.
The party itself was great – capacity crowd, great performers (The Weeknd killed it with a “Drunk in Love” cover, and Childish Gambino is delightful), and a red carpet that was trod by actual celebrities. And also me, my team and my friends, because what’s the point in a red carpet if you don’t ham it up?
